Anticipating, preparing for and indulging in holiday festivities takes up a large part of December. Then, in a blink of an eye, it’s over. The presents opened, the tree has been hauled to the curb and January sets in, with the gray days of winter and a return to daily routines. It’s not unusual for me to find the days after the holiday season to be more than a bit blah with little to look forward to.
However, transitioning out of the holiday season doesn’t have to be depressing. As it closes, a new year opens up and with it, twelve months of possibility. Perhaps, the few days spent doing holiday clear-out can become a doorway to many new adventures and possibilities. Instead of getting caught up in post-holiday letdown, i’m doing my best to look ahead and prepare for the great year that 2017 will become. Cheers to 2017.
