I've always loved out-of-focus images. They are fun, creative, and exciting–you never know what you're going to get! Taking out-of-focus pictures is especially a favorite around Christmas time. Lights on a tree, a house, a mantel, blend together to make an interesting composition.
I had a quick photoshoot with the band, Glow Co. (more photos coming to the blog soon!) around downtown Louisville last Friday. We stuck around one spot that had a lot of different backdrops to offer. I'm always a sucker for these mirrors and OBVI had to snap a few pics with it. I'll hand it over to Glow Co. without me in the reflection, but for 52, I thought it was a cool touch.
Imperfection and death are part of nature’s cycle. Flowers teach us to appreciate them for the beauty they have to offer during their short life span. As they evolve from a seed to fully opening their colorful petals, they’ve been committed to growth, not perfection.
My trip to Spain inspired me in so many ways. I adored the architecture and the design elements around the country, especially the trencadís, a mosaic using broken tile shards that was originally devised by Gaudí. When I found this pot in Louisville last week, I couldn’t resist. I love the juxtaposition of fresh flowers in a pot that exemplifies the ancient art of trencadís.
This week's project 52 prompt was yellow and it could not have come at a better time. There was so much yellow happening over in Spain–golden facades, blooming flowers, yellow mini cars, shutters, you name it. I couldn't stop seeing yellow, thus I shot it every chance I could.
