A Favorite Pastime: Plant Photography

One of my favorite college pastimes was going to greenhouses and taking pictures. It was an escape from a crowded beer-filled campus to an oasis full of plants & perfect light. Call me a plant nerd, but I always enjoyed the time spent alone taking pictures.

I'm slowly trying to work this pastime back into my weekly or bi-monthly routine so on my free day in Seattle (see part one here), I headed over to Volunteer Park Conservatory to shoot some pictures.

After a few hours of shooting at Volunteer Park, I walked about 1.5 miles to the Seattle Japanese Garden designed by Juki Iida. It was a very bright day (not ideal for outdoor shooting), but I loved the images I was able to capture in the shade.
