Project 52: It's Been Awhile

Summer has been BUSY. Travel and work have been consuming my time lately (as well as a week-long cold) and i've let my Project 52 prompts slip right past me. Today i'm rounding up all the prompts I missed into one single post.

Half & Half

My little angel, the apple of my eye, the light of my life, Rooney. We're two peas in a pod I tell you and we really love to take mid-afternoon naps together.

I'm a big fan of Chihuly and I am always so amazed by his colorful abstract glass work. While in Seattle, I got to go to the Chihuly Garden and Glass museum. There in the Glass Forest was the perfect chance to capture my abstract prompt. I lowered the shutter speed down to 1/20 and shook the camera a bit while shooting. I LOVE how it turned out.

I seemed to have been very inspired to shoot my Project 52 prompts while in Seattle... I went to the Seattle Japanese Garden designed by Juki Iida.

In Japan, gardens have long been regarded as an important art form that's essential to life. I couldn't agree more. The garden's design with winding paths and benches invites its viewers to admire the garden's beauty slowly and mindfully. Nature is a powerful thing and is one to be appreciated. With social media and our constant use of technology, nature is often easily ignored. Being in Seattle, walking everywhere, and getting to admire this beautiful garden was a good reminder to put my cell phone down and appreciate the nature around me. I'm fortunate to live in a place that has beautiful seasons and so green almost all year long. Perhaps I should go on a walk more often?

Anywho, I shot a lot of pictures in this garden and this was one of my favorites. A perfect example of nature.
